When to visit New York City:
The best time of year to go to NYC is between the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays each year. This is when New York City is truly at its greatest, and provides everything imaginable to its visitors. Whether you decide to visit the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center, or do some wonderful holiday shopping in one of the city’s famous stores, being in NYC during the holiday season is by far and away one of the best things that one can ever experience.
Besides visiting New York City during the holiday season each year, the other time that is best for going to the city is over Labor Day weekend. This is always thought of by New Yorkers as the final “real” weekend of Summer in The Big Apple, and there is always a lot going on in NYC over Labor Day weekend. The world-famous Fashion Week always begins one week after Labor Day in NYC each year, and the US Open tennis tournament, which in brings in thousands of International visitors, occurs during Labor Day weekend in NYC every year.
Since the professional baseball season is still occurring on during September each year, it is also possible to take in a Mets game at the recently built Citi Field, which first opened in the Spring of 2009 and is also located right next door to where the US Open tennis tournament takes place, which is in Flushing Meadows, Queens. If you are a huge fan of baseball, than you should of course take a visit to the new Yankee Stadium in order to catch a Yankees game. The new Yankee Stadium first opened in the Spring of 2009 as well, following the legendary stadium of the same name which closed its doors forever in the Fall of 2008.
